The animation studio has confirmed that they are as tried of sequels as everybody else. At a time when the world is being inundated with sequels, sagas, trilogies, reboots and remakes, it is nice to hear that we can expect to see some original content. Apart from Coco, it looks like we still have a few years of Pixar sequels to get through. And fear not, Incredibles 2 will be released before Pixar starts their all original programming.
It seems that in today’s world movie studios are quick to hop on just about any bandwagon they can to try to maximize their box office sales. I am instantly reminded of the recent box office smash Deadpool who used a new approach to super hero films and filled theirs with foul language and graphic violence and sex. Suddenly every studio who owns a property wanted to make their films “R” rated just because. It feels as if they are just trying to find new ruts to get into. Well people are speaking up, and they want something new, something fresh, something original.
Pixar has shown us in the past that they can put out original product. I for one am glad to see that they are saying out loud that they are bringing us new ideas.
Thank you Pixar.
